I absolutely enjoyed reading Darren's take on the challenges and triumphs of teens as they at times struggle to define their identity. I like the concept of levelling up as he related that to playing a video game! I was somewhat spellbound from the very beginning as it gave me a fresh new perspective on the mindset of youth raised in the digital age. "Level up your teens" is a young adult nonfiction reward winning parenting book mainly targeted the teenagers and their parents to keep them motivated, keep faith in their future, and opens their eyes for opportunities which may lose in our fast-paced, busy life. The book wrote by the English author Darren Horne. He is an indie author, this book was his first, and he did well in his first try.
When I started reading the "Level up, your teens" in his early chapters Darren highlighted an issue which I agree with, the education system. This was not the first book I read this issue before in Robert Kawasaki book rich dad poor dad and how our education system is not anymore suitable or up for the challenges which our children may face during their blooming ages. I always have my doubts about our modern education system, and the book highlighted the Issue and how directly inflect our Children lives.
I liked the flow of thoughts; the language used both were straightforward and easy to digest. I loved the quotes which are used to support the author's opinions especially this one; "you will find many Sentences will touch your feelings directly Something like Our teens overvalue other people’s opinions and allow negative people far too much influence on their state of mind."
Dareen used the video games (he used Skyrim as an example, it was apparent Darren is a huge fan of Skyrim LOL) in chapter two. It was smart as many teenagers will understand video games more than real life examples. The author tries to push the readers to do the same actions they use in video games and act upon on real life.
Darren also used many cases from some fiction writing books and movies which make the reading flavored and not dull. To summarize the book has a bunch of useful advice, follow an intelligent way to demonstrate his ideas to teens, and as long as I am reading a smile was on my face, the book has excellent information and very entertaining.
A must read book for every parent and anyone else who's surrounded by children and teens. Provides great insights/ knowledge and tools.
One of the most important BOOKS any parent should read, The impact of this book on people's life can change the view of how we are educating our kids,. Highly recommended and have Darren Horne as one of the figures that is going to transform the perception of the human being.
